Oklahoma, 1987. Danielle, the high school tramp, is sent to special ed class where she meets Clarke—overweight, friendless, and closeted. Danielle is determined to get to L.A. to find her birth father, Clarke is desperate to escape being sent to military school by his dad. So, Clarke steals his father's car and the two misfits head west, fleeing their parents in search of themselves.

The film premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, where it was acquired by the Weinstein Company in the largest sale of that year’s festival.

The film stars Juno Temple, Jeremy Dozier, Milla Jovovich, William H. Macy, Tim McGraw and Elsie Fisher. The film premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. It is now streaming on Netflix.
